Smooth and efficient

The high-quality cromox® conveyor chains are made of high-strength stainless steel (AISI 316L or AISI 318LN Duplex), gauge and are additionally blasted for a particularly smooth surface. This makes them particularly robust and they run almost frictionless over the sprockets, for an even more efficient production process. They are available with a breaking force of 36 kN to 580 kN.

We are a qualified member of the renowned professional association LEEA. Through this association, the safety of an entire industry and thus also our own standards are constantly driven forward.

All our products are tested in our in-house Lloyd's Register certified testing laboratory. According to international standards, with up to 160 tons load capacity.

Our cromox® products are produced in Germany and are international leaders in the field of stainless steel products. We ensure consistently high quality and technical solutions to the highest standards.

Robustness and durability: the most important quality characteristics of conveyor chains

Conveyor chains are used day and night in many industrial plants and are therefore a highly stressed and essential part of the production process. If they are made of high-quality, robust materials, they help increase production efficiency and reduce downtime. Choosing the right conveyor chain depends on several factors, including the type of materials to be moved, the speed required and the environmental conditions. It is important to regularly inspect the conveyor chain for wear and damage to ensure optimal performance.

Stainless steel: the optimum material for conveyor chains

High-quality conveyor chains are characterized by their reliability, durability and ease of maintenance. These are properties that the material inox steel brings with it. Its high corrosion resistance makes it durable and easy to clean. Hardly any contaminating material settles on its smooth surface, even under the toughest conditions, whether in the chemical industry or at extreme temperatures. Chains made of stainless steel run almost frictionless over the sprockets. In addition, its high strength makes it particularly suitable for high and permanent loads to which conveyor chains are often exposed, especially in the bulk materials or steel industry.

What are conveyor chains?

Conveyor chains, as mechanical elements, are parts of devices used mainly in industry to transport materials from one place to another. They consist of interlocking links that together form a chain. This chain is driven by a motor that pulls the chain around one or more wheels. The chain can be moved either horizontally or vertically. Conveyor chains are used in a variety of industrial applications, including manufacturing, assembly, packaging and mining industries. Their main function is to simplify and accelerate the flow of materials, thereby increasing the efficiency of the production process.

Where are conveyor chains used?

In industry, conveyor chains are often used to move materials in production lines. For example, they play a crucial role in the automotive industry, where they are used to move vehicle parts from one production section to the next. In the food industry, they contribute to the hygiene and efficiency of food processing, and in warehouses and distribution centers, conveyor chains are used to effectively sort and transport goods. Likewise, they find application in agriculture, where they are used in the harvesting and processing of produce.

Advantages of stainless steel conveyor chains

Stainless steel conveyor chains are extremely durable and resistant to corrosion, which means that they have very good functionality even under stressful conditions. They are also easy to maintain and clean, which reduces their total cost of ownership. Their ruggedness also makes them ideal for heavy-duty applications. Less scrap is deposited on their smooth surface, which increases the efficiency of the conveying process.

What is a DIN 766 chain?

A DIN 766 chain is manufactured in accordance with DIN standard 766. This standard applies to tested round steel chains in gauge design and specifies dimensions and mechanical properties.

High-alloy, stainless steel (inox steel) conveyor chains: purity and resilience as a guarantee of efficiency

Transport systems in food processing and hygiene-critical production areas are subject to exceptionally high material requirements in terms of cleanliness or purity and load-bearing capacity or resilience. The premium-quality and corrosion-resistant cromox® stainless steel chains have successfully proven and established themselves in this sector for decades now.

This is also confirmed by GDI Intralogistics GmbH, a company specializing in washing, conveying, storage, and automation technology for reusable containers in the food industry: they have been using cromox® stainless steel chains of material grade 1.4404 (AISI 316 L) in their washing plants for reusable crates for many years already.
